No 4 Green Futures at your high school yet? Be the one who brings it there. As a founding high school director you'll recruit your team, connect with local elementary schools, and get the full director's guide, templates, and support from our national team. Applications are reviewed and approved by 4 Green Futures leadership.

Join an existing chapter
Already have a chapter at or near your high school? Apply to become a director there. Your application goes straight to that chapter's leadership for review. Most positions have multiple spots — pick as many roles as interest you.

Common questions
Does any of this cost money?
No. We're a nonprofit run by students, for our communities — there are no dues and no event fees for schools, students, or volunteers.
Who can start or join a chapter?
Any current 9th–11th grader, anywhere. You don't need prior experience — founding directors get the full playbook: outreach templates, the lesson library, and training from our national team.
How are directors selected?
Through an application with essays, reviewed by chapter and 4 Green Futures leadership — the same essay-and-interview style process behind our 50+ current teen directors. It keeps the program effective for the elementary schools that count on us.
I'm a teacher — what does a classroom visit look like?
You pick the time; we plan around your schedule. Lessons are tailored to your grade and your community's environmental issues, and directors run every event idea by you before the visit. Reach out on Instagram @4greenfutures or through your local chapter's director.
Where does 4 Green Futures operate?
Chapters currently run across Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida, with the founding chapter in Atlanta — and new chapters can start anywhere a student wants to lead one.
Requirements: current high school student (grades 9–11), cares about the environment, and wants to grow as a leader. That's it — no prior experience needed.
